There were a lot of different serial number series used on Celebrities over the time they were produced.  There are obvious correlations with some of them and of course, departures are not rare.  Below I’ve listed all of the various Series identified so far and, if applicable, the range that I’ve found within the Series.  I’ll do my best to also identify the years that each Series was used.

As with all things Mosrite, there are exceptions to the rule.  Every now and then an interesting “oddity” in a serial number will pop up.

There are guitars where the body and neck will have a different serial number.  The most likely cause is someone who puts a new neck on a body.  Below are some examples of Serial Number Oddities!

The photos above are of Celebrity serial number K1013.  As you can see, the neck was mis-stamped at the factory as K0013 and then re-stamped to match the label inside the bout.

The photo to the left is of serial number 3c0172B.  It’s the only example I’ve seen where there was a letter at the end of the serial number.  I do not know the purpose of the letter B.
